Cecilia is 7 years old and is in class 2. She is an only child; her father sells mobile phone credits. He does not know where Cecilia’s mother. Grandma is with them; she helps the family. Her favourite subject is English, but also like history and science. She speaks well, I don’t need help with translation for our discussion. She has a torn uniform T-shirt and as we talk, she always tries to hide the palm-sized whole with her elbow. She wants to be a teacher when she grows up. At home, after school she helps her grandma, then studies and reads a lot. She would love to have some more book she could read.
